The dream
Kristin wanted a candy store since she was young. She and Matt built it — and as she puts it, “but we opened a candy store. we expect joy and excitement. that’s what this place is for.”
The name
“Calico Charlie” was Charles Foster’s nickname. Fostoria carries his name too — and our shop carries his story, along with shelving, chandeliers, and a five-and-dime cart full of local history.
